Finally, another family photo!!!!
When Jordan got home from band practice at 10:30pm on Thursday night I asked him very excitedly if we could go... after a little explaining about what the garden is, he said yes.
So Friday morning after running a couple of errands we made the one and half hour drive to Colorado Springs. We ate lunch at Chipotle (our favorite place) and then headed to GOTG (that's what I'm going to call it since I'm tired of typing it out.). On our way into GOTG we saw a big horn sheep. Of course, I didn't take a picture of that because I didn't realize what all the people were standing around looking at until it was too late.
It's nice because they have paved sidewalks that are perfect for strollers and it goes all throughout the park. Less than 5 minutes into the park Gabriella thew her hat out of the stroller and I had to retrace our steps to find her hat. It was a beautiful day out, like 90 degrees with a cool breeze. We met a sweet old lady and her two grandchildren, who are 14 months apart too! We walked with them for awhile.
Jayden did really well on the walk. We let him out of the stroller so he could run around and he enjoyed it. The only thing he didn't like was being forced to stay on the sidewalk and not wander off. Gabriella hung out in the stroller until we got to a shaded area where we had a little photo shoot! :)
After about an hour or so walking around we jumped back in the car and headed home. We did get a chance to see the "balancing rock" but of course I miss that photo op as well!!! GRRRR!!!
It was a very successful trip since we didn't have any meltdowns until about 20 minutes from home. I had a really great time just being out and enjoying the beauty of Colorado!

Cute layout! I like it! Sounds like a beautiful day together as a family. If you're ever down there and feel like paying you should see Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds & Cheyenne Mtn Zoo too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tirz! I actually spent the night at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo when I was like 9 with my girl scout troop! :) I would love to go to those other places though!!
